The Cleaning Process
Pre-inspection
Ben walks the areas with you, notes any problem spots, and goes over pricing before anything gets moved or cleaned.
Pre-treatment
Traffic lanes and heavily soiled areas get pre-treated to loosen embedded soil before extraction.
CRB agitation (when needed)
On dirtier jobs, a counter-rotating brush machine agitates the carpet fibers to lift out pet hair, debris, and compacted soil.
Hot water extraction
Truck-mounted hot water extraction with a Rotovac 360i rotary cleaning head makes multiple passes to flush out soil and rinse the fibers.
Acid rinse
A professional acid rinse is injected into the final extraction pass to neutralize cleaning residue and leave the carpet cleaner after it dries.
Truck-Mounted vs. Portable Machines
There's a real difference between truck-mounted hot water extraction and the portable machines many carpet cleaners use.
- ✓Hotter water — better cleaning and faster drying
- ✓Stronger suction — removes more water and leaves less residue
- ✓More powerful — handles heavily soiled carpet more effectively
- ✗Cooler water — less effective cleaning
- ✗Weaker suction — carpets stay wetter longer
- ✗Lower power — may leave soap residue in carpet
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does carpet cleaning cost?
Carpet cleaning is $0.50 per square foot. The minimum charge per appointment is $225. Ben will measure and give you the exact total before starting.
How long does it take for carpets to dry?
Typically 4–8 hours depending on the carpet type, humidity, and airflow in your home. Fans and open windows speed things up.
Do I need to move furniture?
For light furniture, Ben can move it as part of the job. Heavy furniture like beds, dressers, and sofas should be moved beforehand if you want those areas cleaned.
What type of equipment do you use?
Professional truck-mounted hot water extraction with a Rotovac 360i rotary extraction tool — not a portable machine. Truck-mounted equipment runs hotter, has stronger suction, and leaves carpets cleaner and dryer.
Can you get out old stains?
Sometimes, but not always. Ben will give you an honest assessment during the pre-inspection. Older stains, especially anything that has been set with heat or treated incorrectly, may be permanent.
Do you service Davis County as well?
Yes — the service area includes Weber County and Davis County, from North Ogden down through Bountiful.
