Rug Cleaning
On-site cleaning for common synthetic area rugs using professional truck-mounted equipment. Specialty rugs get an honest assessment — and a referral when on-site isn't the right call.
On-Site Rug Cleaning in North Ogden, UT
Many synthetic area rugs respond very well to professional truck-mounted hot water extraction when cleaned on-site — right in your home, using the same equipment used for wall-to-wall carpet. Rugs with natural fibers, unstable dyes, specialty construction, or delicate materials may require referral to a dedicated rug cleaning facility.
This is not a pickup-and-delivery rug washing service. Cleaning is done on-site in the customer's home using truck-mounted hot water extraction. The equipment stays in the truck while the cleaning tools come inside — strong suction and consistent heat without the limitations of portable machines.
Before any work begins, Ben inspects the rug for fiber type, dye stability, backing, and overall construction. If on-site cleaning isn't the right call — whether due to natural fibers, specialty backing, unusual construction, or delicate materials — he'll tell you and point you toward a facility better equipped to handle it. The goal is the right recommendation, not a forced booking.

Common synthetic area rugs that hold up well to hot water extraction
Polypropylene (Olefin)
Common in indoor/outdoor area rugs and many big-box store rugs.

Rugs That Need a Specialty Facility
These rug types — and any rug with unstable dyes, specialty backing, or delicate construction — are better handled by a dedicated facility with controlled washing and proper drying
Wool Rugs
Require controlled water temperature and specialized drying to prevent shrinkage.
Silk Rugs
Extremely delicate — moisture and agitation can cause irreversible damage.
Antique & Vintage Rugs
Age and fragility make these too risky for on-site extraction.
Oriental & Persian Rugs
Hand-knotted construction needs plant-based washing and flat drying.
Natural Fiber Rugs
Jute, sisal, and seagrass absorb moisture and can mold or distort.
Unstable Dyes
Rugs where dyes may bleed or transfer under moisture and heat.
Specialty Backing or Construction
Unusual construction, latex-backed, or fragile foundation materials that may not tolerate on-site extraction.
Honest assessment, no guesswork
If you're unsure whether your rug qualifies for on-site cleaning, call or text Ben with a photo. He'll take a look and give you a straight answer — no pressure to book something that isn't the right fit.
How On-Site Rug Cleaning Works
Inspection first
Ben checks the rug's fiber content, backing, and overall condition before deciding whether on-site cleaning is appropriate. If there's any doubt, he'll tell you.
Pre-treatment
Soiled areas and traffic lanes are pre-treated to break up embedded dirt before extraction begins.
Truck-mounted hot water extraction
The same professional truck-mounted system used for wall-to-wall carpet — strong suction pulls soil and moisture out of the rug fibers. Rugs are cleaned in place on your floor. If yours sits on top of carpet, moving it to a nearby hard surface (tile, hardwood, or LVP) before the appointment helps with extraction and speeds drying.
Drying
Most rugs dry within a few hours. Rolling or repositioning the rug in a well-ventilated area speeds the process. Larger or thicker rugs may benefit from a box fan directed at the surface to help with even drying.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you clean my area rug on-site?
Many common synthetic area rugs can be cleaned on-site using the same truck-mounted system used for carpet. Ben inspects the rug first and lets you know if it's a good candidate before starting.
What if my rug needs to go to a facility?
If your rug is wool, silk, hand-knotted, antique, or otherwise delicate, Ben will recommend taking it to a dedicated rug cleaning facility rather than risk on-site cleaning. He'd rather give you honest advice than risk damaging an expensive rug.
How is rug cleaning priced?
Area rugs cleaned on-site are quoted based on size and condition. Call or text Ben with the rug's approximate dimensions for a quick estimate.
How long does it take to dry?
Most synthetic area rugs dry in 2–4 hours with good airflow. Thicker or denser rugs may take a bit longer.
Can you treat pet accident odors on area rugs?
Ben can treat and extract pet-affected areas on synthetic rugs, and it often improves the odor noticeably. That said, if urine has soaked through the rug backing into the pad or subfloor beneath, surface extraction alone won't fully address the source. Ben will inspect the area first and be upfront about what on-site cleaning can reasonably accomplish.
